Add whoisbrowsing to Framer
Updated
TL;DR
To see live visitors on a Framer site, paste one script tag into Site Settings, Custom Code, at the end of the body tag, then publish. Framer's guide does not say which plans include custom code, so check your plan.
Using an AI coding agent? Give it this prompt:
Add whoisbrowsing (live visitor view) to this project. Follow https://whoisbrowsing.com/SKILL.md exactly.
Your snippet
<script src="https://live.whoisbrowsing.com/s.js" data-site="YOUR_SITE_ID" defer></script>
Steps
- Open your project, then Site Settings, then Custom Code.
- Paste the snippet into the End of body tag field.
- Publish. Framer's custom code guide says Site Settings code loads across the whole site, page settings hold code for one page, and "Framer does not load Custom Code in the canvas preview", so test the published site.
Not a cursor widget
Framer's marketplace has components that add cursor effects for your visitors, such as Cursor Crowd. whoisbrowsing is different: your visitors see nothing at all. Only you, the owner, see their cursors, drawn on your real page when you open your own site.
| Cursor widget | whoisbrowsing | |
|---|---|---|
| Who sees cursors | Visitors | Only you |
| Changes the page | Yes | No |
Content-Security-Policy note
If your site sends a Content-Security-Policy header, allow the script and its live connection: script-src https://live.whoisbrowsing.com and connect-src wss://live.whoisbrowsing.com. Most Framer sites send no such header, so you can usually skip this.
Verify
- In whoisbrowsing, click Watch for your site.
- Open your site in a Chrome Incognito or Safari private window. Your own normal browser is never counted, so a private window is how you test.
- You should see yourself as a coloured cursor on your real page, and one line for you in the side panel.
Each website is separate: www. and the bare domain count as the same website, but localhost and production never mix. If you see nothing, check that the site ID matches the one shown for this site.
If you see nothing on Framer
- Did you publish? Custom code does not load in the canvas preview.
- Is it in Site Settings? Code in one page's settings loads on that page only.
- Which address did you open? Framer's free address and your custom domain are different websites in whoisbrowsing, so watch the one you opened.
- Is the tag in the page source? Search the source in the private window for
live.whoisbrowsing.com.
Let your AI agent do it
Add whoisbrowsing (live visitor view) to this project. Follow https://whoisbrowsing.com/SKILL.md exactly.
This prompt works when your site's code lives in a project an agent can edit. On Framer, where you edit the site in the browser, paste the tag yourself as shown above; an agent can still create the site for you and hand you the tag. See install with an AI agent.
